Esther Porta (Badalona 1964)

She started to study at the Badalona Studio-4 Drawing and Painting Academy, and subsequently studied Mural Techniques at the Arts and Crafts School Lonja (Barcelona). Since 2014 she exhibits her pictorial work every weekend at the Art Exhibition "Painters Association of Plaça del Pi", in Barcelona. Currently, she also exhibits her paintings in virtual galleries in Madrid and the United States. She is a member of the ART-TRA group in Barcelona, formed by ten creators from different disciplines .

The art of Esther Porta Closas arises from the need to externalize her own vision of Nature and her feelings before what surrounds her. It is a personal process with which the artist manages to express the constant movement of the elements and their infinity over time. And it does so by playing with the imagination, with the creation of atmospheres where landscapes divided by distant horizons are intuited, or sinuous figures that bring us closer to the vegetal world, more intuited than detailed. She uses light textures and neutral chromatic ranges. With the glazes she manages to create transparency and depth, situating the work between reality and fantasy. A range of nuanced tones gives us sensitivity, and introduces us to this imaginary of subtlety and tranquility. The atmospheric work of Esther, as if it were a link between the environment and ourselves, offers us an intimate and personal look at Nature.

“Esther Porta's oil paintings are rather minimalist; simple horizontal lines of different colors divide the canvas, which is chromatically worked with neutral tones, and which indicate that the artist approaches the oriental universe, or what is the same , seeks inner peace through reflection and contemplation”.
